EXODUS
World premiere of short film EXODUS!
Commissioned by Trapcode. Made by POTEMKIN.
POTEMKIN notes:
"This low poly semi-epic child hood tribute space saga called EXODUS was born when Peder Norrby asked us to make a short film using Trapcode MIR. We accepted the challenge, made up a multi part narrative and went to work, letting the plugin affect both our creative, narrative and technical results.
This is the first part of a space epic, establishing the protagonists and a fragment of the universe as well as the timeline in which EXODUS takes place."

You don't know me, Peder, but I just want to say TUSEN TACK for all the work you do to make everything Trapcode! I'm new to AE and motion graphics etc., but with your plugins it's possible to fairly quickly get past the "I suck" threshold and start creating fun stuff (and feel like you're making progress -- very important for beginners like me). Exodus shows how much can be achieved with your plugins and some imagination, kudos to everyone involved!
I'm really eager to learn more about Mir -- have you got any more tutorials planned in that area? I'm particularly interested in getting Mir and Particular (and Form, for that matter) to interact together to be able to build up whole scenes like we see in Exodus.
In any case, thanks again -- you rock!
Hi, thanks! Glad to hear that!
I've collected all Mir tutorials here: http://www.trapcode.com/sharelog/2012/7/31/trapcode-mir-training.html
Mir, Form and Particular share the camera, so they get the proper orientation and FOV/zoom etc, but they do not share a unified 3D space - that is, they do not obscure each other - so you have to setup the scenes with some care and/or do some masking.
