We have not tested it with CS3 so it is not a host we can guarantee support for Trapcode Suite 11 / Form 2. products might still work..

Well it doesn't work on Windows XP x64 and CS3 for the simple reason the Red Giant Trapcode installer doesn't even allow for XP x64. Whereas Particular 2 was fine. Form 1 was fine! Form 2.. I can't use it ;( Is the build of Form 1 that much different than Form 2?

I am devastated! I only got my Windows XP x64 bit machine with CS3 a couple of years ago and have resisted the really expensive upgrades to Windows 7 and CS5 for a while and by the way the Toolfarm version is exactly the same as the RG version.

It also deletes your old version of Form 1 when you install Form 2 so make sure you have your serial and opld version of Form at the ready because it won't be on your system after installing the upgrade.

I know Adobe don't support XP blah blah.. I had just hoped that Trapcode ya know.. would have kept it real and while not being able to offer support we all know that most things that don't get support on CS3 usually work OK if they work on CS5.

Didn't want last post to sound like I was having a dig. Just letting others know my situation in case anyone is in the same situation as me and considering upgrading.

And as much as I loathe Red Giant (ever since I heard they were contacting websites telling people to remove Magic Bullet presets they had made and were giving away - creativity should never be stiffled by money!) I have to say they were decent when I spoke to them and said I will get a refund so... shame on me for having outdated system I guess but I buy a new computer every 3 years and am only 2 years into this setup... and still shocked that a brand such as Windows XP is no longer supported.

See you in a year I guess!

DK - While I appreciate your feedback and agree it is great for other Win XP 64 users to know this, I think you are being somewhat unfair in your criticism. We actually support AE three versions back on all platforms AE is (was) supported. It is an immense effort for QA to test all those configurations- in fact that was one reason I partnered with Red Giant, it is just not feasible for one person to keep all those machines and AE versions around for testing and debugging. They test up to 18 configurations for any one release.

Do you have a reference for RG trying to remove user-made MB presets? That seems to me very unlikely. Any such presets would just help sell their product so they simply have no reason to get them removed - quite on the contrary - they should promote them.

Hi,

I'm running CS3 on Windows Seven 64. I was ready to buy Suite 11, especially for Form 2, when i saw that it may not work with CS3... Can you please confirm if it should work or not ?

Thank you, and congratulations for your great products ;)

Hi Raphy,

Sorry I *cannot* confirm that Trapcode Suite 11/ Form 2 works with AE CS3, we have not tested with CS3. The Mac installer doesn't even recognize CS3, not sure about Win. You could download the demos and try - just make a backup of your old Trapcode plugs if you have any!

That said, I don't really see why the CS4 plugs wouldn't work in CS3. Btw, CS3 is a 32bit app IIRC, you are not utilizing your system very well with that.

Thanks! :-)
