hey So i tried this:

I downloaded your file, and then i tried to re-create the exact same MIR mountains by simply copying the exact parameters in each field and i got something completely different..i even copied same camera.

I dont know why!

Simply great!

This is great. I also implemented 'depth of field' and that is really beautiful!

Thanks a lot for these comps!
But just a question about something I still don't understand in Mir: is there a way to keep the vertices visible with a same shape solid non-transparent background?
Thanks!

jb,
Mir renders its own alpha channel so you can put any bg you want below the layer with Mir applied.

Min,
Do you get an error message?
What GPU do you have?

Once I used and played around with Mir, the file magically didn't crash anymore.
Thank god! Your landscapes are amazing. Thanks for the file!

I do still get 2 error messages:
"This project must be converted from version 10.0.1 (Windows 64) and will open as an untitled project. The original file will be unchanged."

"After effects warning: 1 file is missing since you last saved this project"

The first alert just says the file was created in AE CS5. The other is the missing audio file for the "edit" comp. Both can safely be ignored.

Glad you like it!

I'm looking into combining an effect like these landscapes with something like 3d Stroke. Having the stroke as a path that roughly flies through the mountains. The problem is that using this set up, the MIR is scrolling Y, any suggestions on getting them in a kinda unified 3d space or is the combination going to turn into a very serious amount of manual keyframing to make it work?

Thanks for these very cool set ups btw!

Hi Peder,
I again have the issue that the AEP file keeps crashing my AE. Now everytime I try to open it, the whole program just shuts down.
Do you maybe have a solution for this?
