Is there a way to get that smooth streaklet with quick timing in Particular 1.5? The sharp angles are driving me nuts. Everything else works perfectly. Thanks for the tutorial (Particular v2 tut 2). I also figured out I can make my path in Illustrator and paste it into the x,y position for my streaklet too.

The workaround for smoother interpolation with P1.5 is to use a high framerate (99fps) in that comp.

Thank you again Peder, the high framerate makes it much smoother. It just makes me wish between this and the new shading that I could convince my studio to upgrade to version 2.0!

Hi Peder! .. and everyone!

I really like Particular and Form (using most of the time). Greatest plugin!
Is there a way, to make the custom text particles to 3D? Extrusion, without using 3D app. like C4D. I need just a little thickness! :)

October 9, 2010 | Registered CommenterZoltan Somogyi

We need text emitting a trail of particles as it moves on the Z and X axis.
Is there any on-line material that I can read or watch to save on trial and error?
This is a super tight deadline.

The function that emits particles from a layer is called "Layer Emitter" - there is a step-by-step tutorial in the built-in help.

Hi, when i try to set particular type to spirit i got [warning your layer size is big it is recommended to keep size roughly between 20 and 100 pixels in both
dimensions unless particles must pass close to the camera]

i tried to make the layer size 50 but the particle wont show up because its so small

Hi Peder
Is there a way of using Shine (or something else) so that volumetric lights shine from a point past text (or trees or whatever) and make shadows and volumetric rays from the text?
